Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

Thanks. QUOTE="debid, post: 18587535, member: 77440"]Well, you have one cuckoo that looks male (the first) and two that look female. The rest, you'll need to wait a while, yet.

BTW, next time you take pictures, a side profile is best with no hands in the way.[/QUOTE]
Thanks. The first one I think is a barred Plymouth rock. She has different colored feet. Hoping that's the difference! I'll give them some time and try for better pics. Thanks so much!

She's is about 9/10weeks old! She is however the only one that is this red and has wattles showing!
We have 3 buff orpingtons and the older one we have is not this red or has these wattles!

Hi. I am new to your site. I have two chicks, they are just over 4 weeks old (not sure of breed) does anyone know what sex they could be? I think they are Roos, but this is the first time I have had chicks as my other girls were older when I got them so I could be wrong. They do tend to flap about and spar together.

Can you tell me how many Roos I may have ?
It's hard to tell because we can't see 2 of them at all. Also, it's helpful to know the age. Of the ones I can see, I think both of the white headed chicks (EEs) are male. Less sure on the one in front... depends on age, and better pics would help.

The EE is a cockerel.

It is very hard to tell without also seeing the entire chicken in side view. The comb and wattles are still quite small for 9 wks, so it could be a pullet. They will get red from being hot or running around. If you can get a side view, you would be looking for a slightly darker color across the wings on a male.

Yes, those both look like cockerels... big combs for 4 weeks! Pullets also flap and spar at this age, so that's not the best way to sex them.
