Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

I have 4 week old chicks that I purchased online as supposedly pullets. Two of them make me wonder...
1st is a barred rock
2nd is a brown laced Wyandotte
3rd is the other barred rock as comparison. I feel confident she's a she :)
The BLW has been bigger than the others since Day 1. She has enormous legs/feet.
I cannot have roosters in town, so my fingers are crossed.

Any ideas? We only ordered one of each of three breeds, so now I'm wondering if they sent us an extra barred rock because they weren't sure about that one...

If you got them as sexed pullets from a hatchery, I wouldn't worry about that lighter Rock. The barring still looks feminine even if the color is more steel than black. The Wyandotte needs a couple weeks yet but nothing screaming cockerel at all here.

Your other chicks look like pullets. This pic above is the only ? chick. I agree the color looks girlish, but the comb has a little pink. I'd give it another week & re-post a new photo.

I'm losing sleep...are these male hackle feathers?? They are 4.5 months old. No crowing. I think i should know by now if they are boys. Right? But those feathers look really pointy...uuggh...now i know how an expectant mother feels like. Any help?
Your bird looks feminine to me. At 4.5 months, I'd expect a roo to have a larger red comb & wattles.

Post our sugar bear a couple of times....
but sugar bear is basically fully feathered now and is 6/7weeks old now!!
But we are seriously thinking our little easter egger is a roo
Yes. Sugar Bear is a roo. I can see:
brown-red patches of feathers (not a uniform color like most hens)
3 row pea comb
pink color in comb
upright stance

These are all possible signs of EE males.

That's a tough one. Mostly looks like a female. Was it hot out? Sometimes a pullet's comb can get flushed. I suppose it could be a late bloomer, but 8-9 weeks is pretty late.

Do you have others to compare it to? Compare the comb color when they're under the same temp conditions. Also compare the thickness of the shanks & how they stand.
