Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

two "ameraucanas" but i realize more likely EE.
they are both about 9 or 10 weeks old, and last is a shot of both of them around 6 wks.
Darker Brown EE: I can't confirm without seeing the face & comb, but the feather pattern is even, so could be a female. (unless it has a dark pink or large comb). It's also strange that it had light colored legs as a chick, but very dark legs now.

Golden EE: The face looks very female. There's a little splotchiness on the wings, so I'd keep an eye on it. Otherwise, I'm leaning more toward female.

10 week old splash Ameraucana, breeder said raised comb isn't an indication it's a roo, her mother has the same one I've seen it. Just not well bred. However I believe her pinkish face that has happened this week might mean she's a he. Feathers seem girl to me though? Any guesses?

By 10 weeks most males would have a darker comb than that, so I'd say female. When it's hot outside, sometimes females can look a little flushed.

She's a pullet. The narrow single ridge is a pullet trait. In males this age, the raised section is fatter and lumpier (and redder). The feathered legs shows she has some other breed in the lines. Pretty girl.

It looks like a pullet. What breeds go into a Dixie Rainbow? It has a very interesting color & feather pattern.
I'm pretty sure it's a secret recipe. There is a flurry of dual purpose and sustainable broiler mixes coming out now to go with the branded layer offerings. It makes the mystery chicken purchases all the more challenging to identify because they all look like barnyard mixes.
