This morning my RIR is definitely a bit perkier. She still stayed in the run for a few minutes after releasing the chickens outside but, she did walk out and is now moving around and hunting bugs.


Her crop is still a little squishy?

Overnight she pooped this out:

I can’t tell if that’s part of a ruptured egg? A weird poo?

I am so encouraged by her willingness to move around this morning. She even made one of her usual clucking noises.

I will continue to monitor her! Still open to any suggestions or information if anyone thinks they recognize what’s going on. Just want to help my girl feel better. Thank you!

Thank you for your help. Don’t think she’s out of the woods yet. But definitely improved. After walking around for half an hour, she’s parked herself by some water and has now gone to sleep. She also wouldn’t eat a blueberry. But she is drinking.

Moved her back into the run and she’s completely gone to sleep. This is so unlike her. Ugh.

You mentioned 84 degrees.

But the day before was it insanely hotter than that? (In my state we can have weird weather mood swings like that.) And that could explain it.
