November Hatch-A-Long (2014)

Oh Amy, they're beautiful. Grats on your hatch. :) (Love the collage!)

Holy fudgesticks! What an incubator!

I am glad your little peeper made an appearance before work. I was worried you'd miss it.

As far as integrating, I'd be nervous. My two hatched only 12 hours apart or something ( I don't know. I've had so little sleep I've lost track of what happened when) but they still peck at each other incessantly. One will wait until the other dozes off and then peck it awake. Or they'll both fall asleep and one will start chirping, wake the other one up and the woken one will peck at the cheeping one to complain. It seems to have calmed down a bit since I put them in the brooder. They found the food and water already so they've got something to do and more space than the tiny egg crib they were in before.
TY, they are even cuter now that they are more fluffy.....lol I can't wait to see yours, especially the little booger that had you biting your nails....lol

on the next ones! Can't wait to see how they come out!
My son predicted we'd end up with 13 and I think he's going to be right. 3 more pipped and 3 without a single wiggle. Still that's good going into lockdown with 16!

Morning all. Great news... We had our first hatched chick this morning.

This little guy is 1 of 2 eggs we let our young broody bantam sit on. (Not her eggs) Not the greatest pic because I didn't want to hassle mama or the baby's. Still waiting on chick #2 to make an appearance but I can hear chirps so I assume it won't be too long.

Dad is a barred rock and mom can either be barred rock, RIR, buff Orp or blue Langshan. I know it's not the greatest pic but does anyone have any guesses?

Anyways I'm pretty excited and I know my 6yr old daughter is going to go crazy. Great start to my day. Have a good day everyone.

Brian

I have to say blue langshan!! But very cute no matter what :)

LOL I hope you have good luck on this go round too, (no matter what day is 21....lol) We too had two hatchers out of the 17 at lock down last time, but the second hatcher (hatched day 24 by my calc-25 by yours) didn't make it, so we've had a loner for the last couple months.

Sorry to hear that. Well hopefully your loner will have some friends on their way!

All these hatch stories are so much fun to read while waiting

UPDATE: #10 is almost fluffed up, a little sticky spot on it's head yet.... he won't let me get a good pic, even in my hand....

He's got the white/yellow underside.

and # 11 just hatched a bit ago and......

It's a naked neck!!!! I was kinda hoping I'd get one as I knew my sis had a couple (turkens). So I'm happy. I have such a variety!

I can't get my phone app to let me type at all. The keyboard disappears. I've managed it once so far. I think the app just has some bugs that need worked out still.

Curious if anyone else here will be in the not-started-yet Hatch-a-long for December? I just ordered 2 dozen more eggs and may be getting 2 dozen others. I guess I better get started on finishing the spare room in our house. The garage was converted into a shop and a spare room before we moved in. I started renovating it last month but haven't finished yet. I'm going to need somewhere to put all my birds until spring lol
