Strange...power was out over in Craighead County, AR, too. I've got family there who had power go out briefly.

It was nearly 70*F and when the cold front hit it was fairly violent there for about 30 minutes. By nightfall it was almost freezing, and it got into the 20's overnight. Gotta love Arkansas weather

When the storm hit, it was raining so hard, and so windy, that I couldn't see my fence line visibility was almost nil! By the time it calmed down there was nearly a foot of water standing in some of the low lying intersections since it came down so fast. Some places were out of power for nearly 14 hours! I drove hubby's 4x4 to grandma's, rather than my Ranger, coz due to being so light Rangers don't do well in bad weather. Hubbs works retail overnights, as does his family, so they ate together early and went to bed in preparation for all the Black Friday "fun"

too funny! I was just laughing thinking how crazy all of the hens look when they are broody or have new chicks - you can tell they take it sooo seriously! Gotta love it

good job - were the eggs shipped if so from whom?

We got them local, they are mixed breeds.
and I hope my post wasnt confusing, I was only hatching 16 eggs, you got that right?

12 chicks hatched so far...bunch of different breeds. (I went nuts on eBay.). Some bantams, most LF. Had to find the 4th heat lamp and a good bulb. Using a big cardboard box for this temp brooder (picking up ginormous brooder in a week, which will hold fifty chicks).

I am having so much fun!

I'm without a computer until the new one arrives around Dec 3rd. Taking pictures but can't post 'em till I figure out how to do it from an iPad - actually, how to get 'em into the IPad!

But they are all SO cute!

Updated pictures of my babies -- now 10 days old. You can see them all in each of the pictures EXCEPT the 2nd picture.
