Now what to expect?

How much water do you think is in her bowl cup ful I’d go with half ml morning then when you refill put in another. I bet she’s a sweetie. Once she’s a week old start her on 1 ml daily. As you give her a deeper bowl to drink out of. When my ducklings where inside I had to change their water 2x a day they would muck it up so bad with their feed. They need the extra b’s until 10 weeks old. Keep the liquid b in the frig to keep it fresh.
It's just a pastry dish so small. She is an absolute joy lol. I wanted ducks but they are to messy for me, but I will make an exception for her (hope it's a her) I will do the half, she is almost a week already I believe. Can she play in a dish of water?

Please be sure to post pics when you can.

Don't know if you can see the whit dot in her eye, the other side is worse.

Yes I can see it. She’s adorable! Do you think she has any vision?

Thank you, I absolutely love her. Her right eye I believe is the worse, don't think much if any vision. I am pretty sure she can see movement, shadows out of the eye I showed you. Any guess what caused it at such a young age?

Incubation, parents hard to say. It’s just wonderful your able to give her a home. She’ll need the security you can give her. But you have to let her be a duck too.

Yeah that's the really hard part lol. I am so torn about getting her a friend, I really don't need two ducks but I know it would be very beneficial for her.

I think in the long run 2 would be better, because they are flock animals and having a friend will help you both. She’ll be really demanding of your time, having a buddy and keeping them in a very secure coop and run will give her security and a way to be a duck. Just something to think about. I have 18 water fowl I can’t tell you the joy they bring me. They are messy creatures but it’s the best therapy there is.

I know it would help she can only get so much companionship out of a stuffed bunny. :lau Thank you for so much information and walking me through duck ownership for dumbies lol. :he I guess the plus side of owning a blind duck is in time I can help other people on her with what I learn. :celebrate
