Nurture Right 360 Incubator Okay?

You have some very adorable fluffy chicks, but I do not see any keets. Here are some of my keets hatched from last year for you to compare.

**WARNING**
We bought this incubator from Tractor Supply last month. It was our first hatch. I was very happy with it throughout incubation. 7 out of 8 of our eggs hatched. While the chicks were drying off and fluffing up they kept sticking their heads up into the fan box. The guard squares are not small enough. One of our chicks had her beak sliced halfway through by the fan! It bled and scabbed but thankfully she seemed ok. She's 1.5 weeks old now and is able to eat and drink fine, her beak is still healing and we're crossing our fingers she will be ok as she grows.

I spoke to the owner of Harris Farms, the makers of the incubator. He was genuinely apologetic and said they would be changing the mold for the fan guard.

I just want everyone here who has eggs currently set to be aware of this! I would suggest maybe pulling out each chick as they hatch to dry off somewhere else. Just make sure the humidity is at least in the 70s so the remaining chicks don't get shrink wrapped. We looked at the fan after all chicks were removed and if it's powerful enough to slice through a beak it could possibly decapitate or seriously injure a chick!

This just happened to us too. This was our first hatching ever and they were BCM. 15 of the 18 hatched. There was blood on the top and drippings on some of the eggs. One bird had blood above its beak. All are well but I am thankful one didn't get its head caught in the fan or chopped off. I will contact company and post warning on review on Tractor Supply page. It definately needs to be changed. Also I had a concern because sometimes during hatching, the fan sounded like it was trying to give out.

Hatched 10 out of 10 mosaics and 3 out of 8 easter eggers yesterday (they were shipped eggs and had compromised air cells so can’t complain any made it at all). I did get the fan cover and used non-slip on the floor grates, no trouble with safety. All in all I’m incredibly impressed. Was a huge step up from the constant monitoring my syrofoam incubators needed to remain stable

Power outage last night. It was 2 hours. I have too admit that I am very concerned, but after much reading am feeling some relief. I will candle later today or tomorrow, but don't want to disturb them too much right now.

I have my two incubators hooked up to a battery backup unit which keeps electric to them during power failures. They are usually used for computers but work great for the incubators.

I am doing my 24 hour watch, so far it's about .5 degrees colder than my Thermometer/hygrometer and the humidity is spot on. Thankfully I haven't put eggs in yet as we had an unexpected power outage this morning that lasted about 3 hours.

I'm going to put my eggs in tonight! I have about 20 to put in. Just going to use some I have gathered here before I buy any eggs. I'll try to keep everyone updated on how things go! I'm very new to the forums.

I bought this incubator about a month ago. Worked perfect for 21 days, then on hatch day, everything went wrong. First, condensation built up way too high in the incubator and water started collecting in the digital display, even with the humidity control all the way open. The humidity was so high, the chicks wouldn't dry. Then, about six chicks hatched and I noticed that they all had bloody beaks with blood dripping down their faces, so I started watching. When the chicks would stand up under the fan, the vent holes are so large, the chicks could stick their heads up into the fan. The fan blade would smack them in the head, breaking their beaks. This is a terrible design. I snatched the chicks out of the incubator and put them directly under the heat lamp to try to save as many as possible. Then the high temperature alarm started going off on the machine (saying it was 219 degrees), the candling lamp came on and none of the buttons worked. The fan was still running so I put a thermometer inside hoping that it would still run long enough to hatch the rest of my eggs. The temperature dropped to 79 degrees and stayed there. The machine was completely broken at that point and I'm returning it.

Looks like there should be a screen attached there. There are 4 screw holes. The company needs to find better help on their assembly line!
