Nurture Right 360 Incubator Okay?

if you don't want it to turn, you could just take out the disk that the central pole turns. Without that it doesn't matter if the center pole turns or not.

@Nurtureright360 I have a couple of questions. While I understand these are not "normal" operating circumstances, for those of us that do staggered hatches, and move eggs around, etc, I wonder how the programming will affect these situations:

1. I had a broody duck abandon her nest. I estimated 10 days left when I put them in the Nurture Right, so I reset the unit, and set the days on 10. Now after candling, I think they weren't as far along as I originally thought. So if I change the counter to 12, will it stop turning on day 5 (which was day 3), or will it continue to turn until the "revised" day 3? (I understand I can do a full reset again, but if I can just increase the days, it would be easier)

2. I'm not sure what the highest day setting is, but I'm considering setting the days to 99 or whatever the highest number is, and just unplugging the turner from the unit on the days I don't want it to turn. Simply unplugging it will stop the turner, correct??

As I said, I realize these aren't necessarily instructions from the manufacturer, but it would be helpful to know how it will behave.

And thank you so much for your continued support on this thread! I suspect it will be the "go to" when people google the product, so it is very nice to have a representative being so involved and helping so much!

1) when you manually adjust the hatch days, the timer will countdown per the new days, no matter where you set the timer countdown from, day 10 or day 12, the egg turner only will stop turning when DISPLAY show day 3 .
So you don't need to reset to set day 12, just add two days (10+2).
However, when the hatch days had already countdown to 0 day and if you want to add more days, at this time we recommend to use reset function instead of directly adjusting hatch days, because countdown to 0 day means a full cycle completed, reset at this time can ensure the whole egg turning system can restore back to the optimum condition for next round of hatch.

2)Highest hatch day can set is 30 days. Anytime unplugging the egg turner connector(located on the back of the incubator top cover) will stop the turner and this action won't cause any error to the control system. However, still suggest to remove the egg turner before hatch day to ensure enough space for chicks hatching out from egg shell.

When you first started the eggs, did they start to rotate immediately or does it take a while? I tested the turner for my Mom and it rotates but she hasn't seen it move yet once setting the 21 days. I'm clueless on this as it's a Grandmommy & Granddaughter project! :)

When you plug in power, the egg turner won't start to rotate immediately, it will rotate 5 seconds every 60 minutes, the 5 seconds rotate can turning eggs around 180 degrees.

I originally used paper towels starting at lock down after a chick stuck its foot through the grill. I was able to get it back out without harming the chick.I put the paper towel down during hatching so the incubator was not turning the eggs. The paper is going to cause problems if the egg turner goes over it, and, will possibly not hold up if placed under the grill.

What I did after that hatch was complete is:

I took out both the egg turner and the grill under it. I traced the outer edge of the grill, and marked the center hole spot on a piece of poly window screen. (I used the smaller hole no-see-um screen) I got it at Lowes. It is the material that is in house window screens to keep flies out of the house. I then cut out the shape I traced, making sure I also cut the notches around the outside edge. I folded it into quarters and cut a hole the size of the center post of the grill, which is larger than the post that rotates the grill. Put this screen piece onto the base of the incubator, over the water reservoirs, then return the grill to the incubator over the top of the plastic screen. Add the egg turner and you have solved the problem of little feet going through the grill. I have done both of my incubators this way with no problems with my incubators. One is now on lock down and the other is a week into a hatch cycle.

If you put the paper in when lockdown is starting, it means removing all the eggs. I did that on my first hatch. I worried about mixing eggs that I was trying to keep separate in my mind. I also worried about them rolling off the counter, or, being dropped. I like the simplicity of being able to lift off the egg turner and everything being as it should be. All still relatively close to where I remember, and all still in one piece for a few more days.

Yes, humidity is a concern with loss of air movement.
