I got a strange call from my wife just now. A co-worker of hers whose husband runs a dairy farm found a turkey and 3 chickens in the woods, can I identify the breed?

Well they look like Faverolles.

Who finds chickens in the woods?

Framac

The husband of your co worker?

I watched a show on cable when I was in AL, we don't have it here, called "Wild". It was about a woman or government group whose job it was to capture animals in FL. Well this particular show had them chasing "wild" chickens. There apparently is a group of escapees that lives in the cities. There were even hens with chicks.

I'd also seen a show where a flock lived at the country compost dump. Outside all year round, scratching and digging for food. It was all they lived on.

Hi Aria. Nice to see you on.

For those who may or may not remember my squirrel problem? Something had gotten into the hoop coop and chewed through the plastic container of grower.

I had already captured a squirrel and disposed of it and I did know there was a black squirrel in the area, but thought things were good.

Well I decided to take the rat trap and nail it to the tree nearest the coop. I did so last evening and low and behold there was a small grey squirrel in the trap this am.

I had also set the hav a heart too. Just in case.

Now if you do use a "rat trap" for squirrels I suggest you nail it to something they can't drag away. I used the tree, but have plans to set some nailed to a 2 X 10.

I've lost a few mouse traps. One being that plastic easy set trap. 2 for $5. They are easy to set but I'm not sure how to keep them from being dragged off.

There also is a video on Youtube on how to build a weasel trap that may be very useful to anyone with a weasel problem. I'm sure it would work good.

But not on relatives who are weasels.

Rancher...thought you would NOT remember a Silkie owner.

Amy...thanks for your help in locating Silkies

Adora had an offer for Silkies TOO. We said no to her. We
have made arrangements (thanks to Amy) to purchase
5 Silkies.

I am on Semester Break from College and have time to visit
BYC. All communication is priceless.
