dinner: crock pot rooster

She had a slight blood spread going down her head to her neck feathers . Almost like a feather splash .
Brought her inside for a bit till I could get to spraying her ..A quick chicken diaper ( plastic grocery bag )
Handle goes Over the head bag part goes in between the legs ..over the tail & other handle goes over the head ..
I quick fix for a chicken inside ..it can wander a bit will you are ready ..to do what you need to do ..LOL
My son was holding her giving her grapes ..Hes 32..

Can blue coat hurt eyes ? Our roo got a good spray in his eye when he moved .
His eye seemed to clear but it still looks a little blue ..they have a second lid right ?

Hubby picked up another egg customer today! They want 2 doz a week. That is in addition to the 1-2 doz per week for our original customer. The 10 girls have been laying machines this week. Got 10 eggs one day! Usually 7 per day, 8 tonight. Hubby now decided we need 10 more hens, before it was a max of 6 chicks. So if I have my chicken math right.... In order to get 10 hens, I will need 20 chicks. Can't wait to tell him that one! And he would like some dark eggs too, so Tab- plan on a few golden blue cuckoo Marans for us. .

If they are brown egg layers I give them dark or green eggs. If they are dark or green layers I give them brown eggs. Makes it easy to pull the newly laid eggs.

I admit, I had a severe moment of weakness the other day and picked up some ducklings from TSC in Clifton Park- they're so adorable!

Apparently they're a sort of mixed bag, so I'm curious to see what I end up with! I really probably shouldn't be allowed to go into TSC stores during the spring...

Gramma (re: Blondie's pecking order) She's somewhere in the middle. 17 Australorps came after her, but she was bottom of the totem pole before that. I also realized today, after cleaning her poopy butt in my bathtub (eeeeeeewwwwwww) that she has many missing feathers on her butt. Gave her a bath and blew her dry (she crawled onto my lap and closed her eyes... awwww!) and smeared her with NuStock. Maybe she is getting picked on. I'll spend some good time out there Saturday and check things out. No sign of mites and no one else has missing bum feathers.

I really would like some Khaki Campbells that they have now. Dark and khaki. Straight run though.

yes. A few years ago I posted eggs fr sale on CL. Got a few few timers but also picked up 2 customers I still sell a few dozen a month to.

I missed this earlier while I was posting (sorry about that). My sister actually just bought a house in Machester. My husband and I grew up in Southington and our parent still live there. It took us exactly 2 hours to get there from Albany when we lived in Latham.

Small world, because when I was growing up, my family and I would visit my Aunt Helen and Uncle Chip and also my cousins in Southington...

I got bad news the otherh day. My company downsized a bunch of people and I was one. So I will have to put off getting my flock started until next year. I won't have the $ to do it right now.

Sorry to hear this. I hope something great will come your way. Some times the old cliche really applies, when "one door closes and another opens."
