Rancher---I only eat my eggs but my allergies have progressed to the point that even my own eggs bother me. I will stay away from them for a few months then try again. Your allergy is untreatable I think!!!
Dh let both groups of silkies out today at the same time. Little Man (my older roo) promptly let Legolas (my younger roo) know that the realestate they were on was his. Dh had to lock up Legolas group until I got home. Needless to say, I got an earful from both sides when I got home from work. Little Man was a good boy and went back into his run with Sarah so I could let the others out. Of course Legolas had to go running over and taunt Little Man from the other side of the run. Boys. Oh, and now I have two broody silkies. Stripe was sitting next to Sassy and both are on an egg. Stripe got me good too when I was reaching under her to check for an egg. Sigh.
Dh let the terrorists out today as well and I think they were happy to finally get out of their run and coop. They would only go where the bare patches were on the ground. They were happily digging and eating bits of grass. He will have to let them out again tomorrow.
My incubators are working well. The genesis 1588 holds the temp and humidity very well and with my egg turner I havent had to do anything. My brinsea octo 20 is also holding the temp very well and recovers quickly when I have to open it to turn the eggs by hand. My hydrometer shows the humidity is pretty steady. So hoping for great hatches with these two and the broodies.
Have you tried organic feeds?
