NY chicken lover!!!!

From Mexico, it is more direct to just continue down 81S to the Nedrow exit, but Marcellus wouldn't take you any extra time, really. It would mean getting off the exit before Nedrow and heading west on Seneca Tpk. to Marcellus (about 10-12 minutes).

Just let me know if the Nedrow roo doesn't pan out for you. Good luck and thanks for the response!

M.

Well if you came down 81S took the 481 W exit you could stop at my place and then get back on 481 W and continue to the Brighton Ave South exit take a left on Brighton Ave. then a right onto Seneca Trnpk and either take a left on S. Salina St. and go to Nedrow or go straight on the Turnpike to Marcellus.

So I did a bad thing this morning. I went to TSC. I just needed to get threaded screw fence gate holder thingies and there were khaki Campbell ducklings on clearance for $2.50 each. There were 14. I bought them all. I have a friend that has a lot of ducks and he said that he would brood them and that he actually will buy the majority of them from me, I called him first to see if he wanted any. I will probably keep 6. They are so cute!!

It's the siren call of the duckehs. Resistance is futile.

The duckehs are cuteth!
I don't know who else gets the Community Chickens email newsletter from Mother Earth News. The one I got today had a great article "All About Egg Color" submitted by Scratch Cradle. That article had futher links on the genetics. Thought of Cass with her teal egg project and also Rancher with the maran chick drowning in egg.

At the bottom of the article there is a link for Want to Learn More: Chicken Genetics Mini-Series. I skimmed through one (resisiting the urge to put off work in lieu of much more interesting reading) and it had some nifty information on chicken genetics. Can't wait to read more!

How come my TSC never has these kinds of sales. I was there today and they had two KC's left but a bunch of Pekins. No sale here. It's probably just as well.

I'm resisting the temptation to go down there and see if they're selling off the KCs that are left, as I know I'd say "load 'em up."

If I had to choose between raising chickens and raising ducks, the ducks would win wings down. Ducks rock.

I've said exactly the same many times. If I couldn't have both, I would just have duckers.
