NY chicken lover!!!!

Say all ... I am thinking - after JLaw mentioned the lack of interesting birds at the fair ...

Maybe I will enter my Speckled Sussex Roo ... he is a pretty boy --- but since I am not really into showing, and didn't breed him to meet any standard for the breed - what is your opinion ?

I think it may be fun, I would like to hear the judge's feedback and don't care if I win anything - but he is a big and handsome boy ..... All opinions are welcome ...

Morning Everyone,
Dreary day here.

Metella ~ He IS a handsome boy! I don't know anything about showing so I'm of no help in that area.

CountryBoy ~ Glad your cousin is ok. Hope you can catch those guineas!

Dreary here as well. I miss the sun and the temps in the 80s. I want summer back its to short as it is.

Beautiful Roo. I don't know about showing either but maybe the fair you were thinking of showing at would have the info online?

Can someone please tell me how to use egg cartons for incubation and the process of turning by hand?! I get that u have to turn the an odd number of times but how? All in the same direction? At a 45 degree. Angle overtime? Never. Incubator without an egg turner lol

Flip them at a 45° angle 4-5 times a day. One direction first and then go the other direction next hour. Do it an uneven number of times per day. Good luck

They say it "should" be partly sunny today, hope so. I'd like to get something done when we get back later.
My wife has rotator cuff surgery this morning, so we get to spend most of the day at the hospital. I'll be climbing the walls out of boredom.

Country Boy, good luck with the guineas. Maybe get a big fishing net and try to grab them.

Metella, he's a nice looking boy.

I.......Got......An......

EGG!!!!!!!!!!

I got an egg, I got an egg! I'm so excited I got an egg!!! LOL I don't know who it's from of my three big girls but I don't care! I finally got an egg! And I'm going to hatch it too! Right along with my little silkie egg!!!

Chris, good luck for your wife's shoulder. My husband had that, had to sleep in a recliner for a while, and was grumpy. Enjoy your down time today...you will be doing a lot soon. You can always escape to tend the chickens.
