NY chicken lover!!!!

Jay, Would spraying baking soda and water work?

These duck pix are great. Enjoying them a great deal. Heading to the Fair soon, can't do weekend there. Have a great day all. Pharm, I am so sorry all your customers are so grumpy. I resolve to be very sweet in the drugstore...they'll probably think I'm really sick.
Thanks for the suggestion. At least I know baking soda won't hurt my girls.

Thank you so much. I'll definitely try this. Garlic isn't toxic to chickens or ducks right? They all will go back into my garden after the growing season but occasionally one will find a way to get in sooner.
Garlic is GOOD for your birds....some say it's a natural worming agent, others say it helps with their digestion and should be given to them, in their feed, on a regular basis. So if it happens to work on killing your plant leaf problems everyone wins. Please let us know how it goes, cuz if the SHTF in my lifetime I am collecting ways to deal without manufactured products.

I've been put on strict bed rest and taken out of work. I went into preterm labor thursday and was admitted to the hospital. They put me on a magnesium iv to stop labor and i was released yesterday. DH is taken on the extra work around the house. He even put ointment on my toes where i had a cut.

Tabs thoughts are with you. our last child my wife was leaking fluid and they took the baby out a month and a half early. She was just under 3 lbs. Long story short 8 1/2 years later she is now my biggest pain in the but!!!

So good things happen. LISTEN to the docs and keep us posted. Oh and if you have to go early the NICU at St. Lukes was amazing back then. I can't imagine how good they are now.

Take care, nothing is worth risking your baby.....If you need anything, just holler!

I'll definitely let you know the results. Unfortunately my squash plants are done now but I'll keep it in mind for next year. Thanks for the info on garlic. It's funny garlic is even used in reef aquariums for getting rid of certain parasites. I think I need to start growing that in my garden.

Cheers,
Jay

Take it easy and rest! If you need anything, let us know. We may be 1.5 hours away, but I can still bring a meal or two up if you need it. Or send it up with the in-laws.

It's a little early to plant it this year. Plant in October, harvest in July. Needs 7 ph soil. Plant one clove in each hole. Hmm...what else did that garlic farmer tell me? Make sure it has enough water, not drought tolerant. It is the right time to order garlic for planting however. Personally, I bought garlic from a catalog and had a horrible harvest, so this year I am going to just use some from the supermarket and see what happens. (Not to mention that garlic for "seed" is very expensive. Sheesh) I wanted "free" garlic to chop and put in my chicken feeder. I got tiny little bulbs ....sooo....no garlic for peeps this year.
