NY chicken lover!!!!

Actually they're smart! It's 16 degrees out in the air, but if the water's not frozen, it has to be at least 33 degrees. They're actually warmer in there than they would be out :) Mine do the same thing, lol.

I was actually wondering that after I posted the pic. That water will never freeze, it runs all year round since it's from the spring up in the mountain.
We had an electrical "thing" in the Pond. I don't know what it is called. It was circular and just kept the pond enough opened
for the Ducks to swim all Winter. If the spring keeps running...perhaps it will stay opened.

I know the Ducks will try and swim and sometimes if frozen a little...they will stay on and it will
open. They are water lovers. Regards, Aria

Cute ! Are these a different EE than the others ? I see wing tips - Are these boys ?
I'm not sure what you mean...what "others"? The woman I got these from actually thinks I have all pullets with the exception on 1 roo. So we'll see.

pic one all yellow chicks - are these all younger ? NO patterns on their wings

pic 2 - 1st chick wing tip - Roo ? other 2 older than yellow chicks or different mix EE ? I see patterns on their wings
pic 3 - older than yellow chicks or different mix EE ? I see patterns on their wings[/QUOTE]
So are they all the same EE ?
Clearer ? DEb

Ohhh...They ALL EE's, She had many different colors hatch out so I chose to take 3 yellow (she threw in an extra) with hopes at least 1 will be mostly white in color, and the bluish colored one (looks black in the picture due to lighting. It's difficult to get a good picture in that room due to there only being 1 window in there) and I told her to surprise me with the 2 additional, so she threw in 2 of the brown colored ones. But yes they are ALL Easter Eggers.

so they will probably be different colors when mature also .
Where did you get the cuties ? Around here ?
Yea, I'm not sure what the yellows will grow up to be like but I've seen pictures online of what the browns will look like and thats pretty much the color they are now. Someone had listed these on the Sloansville Poultry Sale page on FB earlier this week and they met me today off 90.

Lynzi---just HAD to post pics of the little monsters huh?! Now you are actively spreading morehens disease and I do not want that right now!!!

Thanks Stony---sums up the day!

Rancher--you are on a roll. Exactly how many pics of your mother-in-law do you have????

So we are up to about 4 inches of snow and I elected to stay home from work today as there has only been one plow through here and that was at 10 am this morning. Roads are ugly up here in the mountains and I love my life and like my car so we stayed home. Of course, I had to hear all about it when I went outside today to refresh frozen waterers in the runs and get eggs. The terrorists are mad and I think they are plotting something because Bill was keeping a lookout on me while the hens were huddled around the feed bucket whispering. I will have to be vigilant tomorrow when I let them out. I just know they are plotting. My silkies are less than impressed with incarceration in their coop/covered runs and required some boss to make things better. Dh accused me of being a bad chicken mommy and cut up a crapload of liver and took it out to his darling terrorists. Thats why that song I posted is sooooo him!

I hope everyone is staying warm and safe at home and that all your cheeps are as well.
