Yeah, my dog was a poop eater too and then he would want to come and give you kisses. Or he would roll in something truly vile and want you to pet him. Dogs just like nasty things.

Question for everyone. At what age do you introduce your chicks in with the main flock? And how do you go about doing so?

Ugh, just found out that I have an egg eater! I've been getting 1/2 my normal egg amount, thought maybe with the hens free ranging that they have a stash somewhere. Nope walked in on a hen eating an egg.

Has anyone successfully broken a hen of her egg eating habits? Or should I cull her? I'm particularly annoyed, she's a young replacement hen that I hatched out...maybe 7 or 8 months old.

Question...Anyone have any idea why two of my 3 female ducks have stopped laying? I was getting 3 eggs a day for the last few months and now for the last week I've only gotten 1. One blue egg from my one blue runner hen. The KC and the black Runner are on strike apparently. Neither is broody...just find it odd that both have stopped the same day and both haven't laid an egg in over a week. I can see if the KC gave one Monday and the Runner gave one on Tuesday but it's like they're playing a game of hide the eggs.

They are probably layinng somewhere else. My 2 ducks laid eggs in the coop, but I was taking them away, so they started laying outside. Of course, its in a mud hole!

I was having a problem with that a little while ago. I gave them some sea salt free choice. I have not found any evidence of an eaten since. It's been 4 weeks now?

Update on the little yellow chick I hatched from my BR cockerel and BR hen.

Turns out, both the hen and the cockerel are BRxWR cross! So the little chick is a white rock. SURPRISE!!!

COOL ! I guessed it right It helps that I have some white rocks ...LOL
