It's been rough few days over here, with a huge loss, a rescue, and a power outage. I have just lost my last remaining grandparent, my grandmother, two weeks after I lost my grandfather.
It has been rough for you ...So sorry .you lost both your grandparents Im sure your gramma was heart broken ..they had many good years together .
You have many good memories of them . Many people loose their grandparents as children ...you were able to know them long enough to grow up with them .
That is a blessing in it self .
In the light of day they are fine and have no injuries, and are dealing well with being thrown in with all the other birds. The drake wandered over to greet me today while I was out feeding them. He was stuck the most badly and I think he realizes that I saved them.

Lucky duckies ! they were in the right place at the right time ...glad you were able to get them out .

That was disappointing. It looks like the others made it, though, which is good. I managed to keep the temperature at 96 degrees in there using hand warmers, and it seems like that was enough.
Did the black ones not make it ? smaller eggs ? probably cooled down faster ? Can you try again ?

It was two eggs from the cemanis that were crosses for a project I was working on. They would have been the first hatches for my project and they were two weeks along The purebred cemanis, however, seem to have made it. I'm actually about to go do a quick candling now to confirm while it's still dark.

so i started reading up on nutrena's feather fixer and ended up going to their site and they told me were to find the larger bags of feed ..they also sent me a coupon for 2 dollars off their products ..still water feed seems to be the place that sells it around here ..they said tcs only has agreed to carry the small bags ..and at 8 bucks for 7 lbs i would go broke feeding them at that rate..but i plan on going to still water and see what they have and at what cost ..i buy my straw there now ..they are pretty tight lipped about whats in it to fight mites tho ...i am thinking maybe it is DE..

So a friend just called and asked if I needed some organic Biosupreme (which is dry yucca powder) cheap. Anyone use this to supplement their chickens or other livestock?

Should I get it? I would have a ton (literally) extra to sell as well.

specifically says for livestock on the box. Poultry, swine, cattle

It looks like retail is almost $300 for 55lb. We bought it for a little less than half price. Thought we'd try it and sell some.
