I got one egg on Tues and one on Thurs. Perhaps the extra light is starting to help.

Out of eight pullets I have a EEgr/olive egger laying almost every day, another EEgr laying a lighter green egg rarely, and one brown leghorn laying maybe three a week. Last week one day there was two white eggs! But only that one day. Those EEgrs must be good layers, and I think she is a bantam.

If I was lucky I was getting 1 egg a day. I gave in and put up some lights a few weeks ago. Yesterday I got 7 eggs!

That is wonderful, 7! I am excited by one a day, it had been a couple of weeks with none. Yes, I got one today!

I might get 4-6 a day.

Mine have been laying quite well 8 today 9 yesterday 5 or seven the day before that .
This is 4 or 5 days of eggs ..I forget which ... ive been letting them pile up ..
not washing them every day & putting them in the frig them right away ..

I had one of my Sumatra pullets ...who decided she wanted to roost in the hen house ..
She gets picked on some what ..I guess it is quiet in there at night ..
so when I did a Roost for the babies..I got this idea of it sticking out the end for her.


She had her own little roost when she was in the baby coop ..
So im how can I tempt her to use it ? I put her on it ..& I took a bulk food plastic cup & pushed it through the bars.
She has her own little feeding station ...she will roost there & wait for me to fill it at night

My girls (and a few guys) are SO bored these days - locked up since there's no cover against the hawks.. And only 3-4 eggs/day. My customers are not happy.

I haven't been on in weeks. Sorry I haven't kept up on how everyone is doing. The holidays are so hectic with shopping, baking, wrapping, school parties, and family obligations. I look forward to when they are over. I keep telling myself to savor the happy moments of them not dwell on the not so happy points.

My chickens have been down in production, but we still get at least a dozen a day and that's pretty consistent. I've been selling as fast as they lay them. I was going to make some last minute ornaments out of some but I couldn't find rub ons at the local stores. DH still thinks we should downsize and I thought we already had.

I hope everyone is staying warm and enjoying their happy moments!

Hang them up a head of Cabbage and let them a have some well needed fun. Hang it just above head level. They will have hours of fun!
