That sounds good! I work in healthcare, so anything you can make me wear is probably an improvement...What type of spitz will you have and how much are you asking? My schedule looks rough next week, but the following week (21st) would probably work well. Let me know - the spitzs' are intriguing, although I did promise myself no more chickens this year....currently have 33 so 36 would seem like a round number...

If your hosting I won't complain about the date. Unless of course it's in winter.
Picked up some more fabric for chicken aprons. How were they received? JoAnns has a sale on fabric. Of course its DW who does the work.![]()
What sorts of thing go well in the auction?

mE TOO...I gave mine to my sister as a gift ..so I might be looking for another one too
You could take them away & put them back when the others hatch if they are not too far apart ...Iwent out many times hoping to see more little heads, but momma has only let me see one, so I will have to be patient. Yes, gramma, since she added all those eggs, there is a significant time span. At first she was on and off the nest, so I wonder if she was keeping them vital but slowing development? I don't know how good her own eggs will hatch or fare, as Earl is the only rooster, and he is her father too...I don't have an incubator, so what will be, will be. Whenever I find myself wishing for an incubator, I realize that I would also need many more coops, and that isn't happening.
September 12 th looks fine to me ...What does everyone think of a fall chickenstock type show the date I am looking at is September 12th
Lost a Holderread baby last night. Smaller than the other two, and fussy. It was Hokderread, so I didn't think about the classic pattern of failure to thrive and lots of noise while otherwise eating and drinking implode within the first week of life thing because, you know, Holderread. In hindsight, law of averages states that even a waterfowl demigod is going to produce one of those every now and then. In my own birds, I would have just crossed my fingers and hoped for the best, knowing that no intervention will stop first week crashes. So now I'm down to the two Holderread babies and my sole surviving Ancona from the power outage. They aren't complaining, are fat and sassy, and absolutely fine. It was a bummer to lose one, but it happens.
The babysitter geese are a bit mad at me because I held their charges inside due to the rain, but they are still 100% downy and not at all waterproof. Plus I take mom to neurology today, where we will hopefully sort out management of her delusions and paranoia...
Never, ever, a dull moment....
