Bad English and all cap and to top it off - some kind of promo spam ? Sounds like Chinese hackers to me. I'd never visit that sight.

It's against BYC rules to promote other site. Unless it's BYC sponsored I'd ignore it. Though I will say to practice good BIO security. The USDA site offers free literature on the matter. FREE. If you have questions you can call your cooperative extension.

This is mine.

Sharing some photos' of the flooding. We didn't get any damage, but local villages have been overwhelmed with water. These are the trails I walk the dogs on.

The bible says God won't flood the earth like in the past, but sometimes you wonder if He might just flood parts of it.

We might want to start collecting more animals and building an ark.

Course on my visit to the Houston area all I can think is "They've paved paradise and put up a parking lot". There is just no where for the water to go. It's like they're trying to put five pounds of manure in a two pound bag. People wise. Cramming as many people in one area as they can fit. Good lord the house lots are smaller than a postage stamp!

My daughter's place didn't flood but the water in the road rose up to the bottoms of peoples cars. It just rises up and does the damage and then goes down, leaving a mess of destruction in it's wake.

Of course Texas like California doesn't have enough sense to "save" any of that water for the future.

So food for thought. If you were to build an ark. Which animals are in the top ten of your list to save? Other than me of course.

Don't say Silkies, they're probably causing all this flooding. They'd just go back to the mother ship anyhow.

Me?
1. chickens. 2. sheeps. 3. Cows ( a good dual breed, fat for butter and milk, brown color ) . 4. pigs. 5. goats. 6. dogs. (working breed). 7. cats (a good mouser line). 8. .............. I don't know

Morning all. Just checking in before running off to work. Pharm was closed yest due to illness so today it's all hands on deck. Legoland coop is locked do up due to rain. Don't want mama out with the new chick's unless I'm here to help if something happens.

Have a nice day all.

Finished hatching Broody 2's eggs yesterday. One never internally pipped and, upon eggtopsy, apparently it was upside down in the shell. Why does that happen? I've had quite a few of those.

I took one of the fluffies out to Attila the Hen, just to see how she would react and....she let it snuggle up under her. So I gave her another, leaving her with a total of five chicks. I have them locked in the coop so she can't take them outside, which should help keep her nearby for the smaller two. The five still in the house in the brood box are doing well. I'm tempted to put them under her, too but...I think ten chicks is a few too many.

In the meantime, Broody 3 is back on her nest. I took her eggs and gave her dummy eggs for now, but I'm undecided on whether or not to actually let her hatch anything. I really don't feel like dealing with trying to keep George from booting her off the nest, and I don't want to move her to Attila's side of the coop just yet. AND, egg production is way down.

Broody 2 is apparently no longer broody at all. She doesn't seem interested in the chicks, she's not setting on the nest, and she's no longer flogging me when I enter the coop.

I'm thinking of heading up to The Poultry Hatchery in Clifton Springs to pick up some Brahma and Cochin chicks. But I haven't heard back from them via email so...we'll see.

(some possibly 4 weeks- dont think they are full brahma )

If I remember right they dont turn into the air sack ...so they die...were they turned daily ?
I turn even the ones under a broody once daily ..in case the hens dont do it ...I give each one a little roll
