NY chicken lover!!!!

It would have been nice, now I have to worry about it coming back when I'm not around. They adapt and get super smart, military base somewhere has a bounty on them, day hunting quit working so hunters started spotlighting, they got smart to that, now they are using night vision. Guy at the DEC said they have three litters a year, and eat lots of wild turkey eggs.

I did hear that too. Can you set traps or get some hot wires up?

Thanks, guys.

I hope the pig comes back while you're outside with your gun!

After you cook it you can send me some. Haven't had fresh wild pig in ages. In not supposed to be eating pork, so we'll have to do it on the down low

The chicks haven't been eating tomatoes. My first thought was that one of them ate some glass, but maybe not. Here's a pic. It probably got stepped on already, so not very good. This morning it looks like it could be intestinal lining

Devona...if it was me I would watch that . If there is more than that poo then start treatment for coccidiosis. The will be spewing blood real bad in a day or two & you would know for sure as it progresses. I lost some beautiful silkies last year by the time I figured that out for my flock. I used Corrid and it worked well.

On a positive note... The mcmurray chicks arrived today and only one doa. There are a few that look a bit weak and are light in weight but I would be too if I was in a box since Monday.

I'm glad most of your chicks made It ok. What do you usually give them in their water in the beginning , after traveling? When I thought I was getting day old chicks, I had bought this powdery thing that turns into a gel when u add water. The company said it rehydrates them and has some other electrolytes in there. Then I heard someone uses sugar water. I'm curious what others use.

Where would I get corid? A feed store?

Here is a link that explains coccidiosis on this site. Please start treating with corid as soon as you can or you might lose your chicks. It is a pretty common product and usually carried by feed stores.

Thanks. The corid I'm seeing online says its for calves. Is that the one I need? Also which form is better? Pellet, powder or liquid?
I got the powder because it came in a smaller packet, but you could use either powder or liquid, whatever you can get faster. Here are a couple of links that will explain more. Just go to the top of this page and put "corid for chicks" in the search bar and you will get all the information you need.

This is what you are looking for, the 20% powder: https://www.valleyvet.com/ct_detail...=86810362963&gclid=CKDe9byqyMsCFVAjgQodnhQEaA
