Did you take pictures? Why do they call it a Congress? Is this a political thing?

No idea on that. was just a gigantic poultry show. =) I took a few pics, but nothing big. I was wandering around looking at all the different birds!

After all she's been through, my injured hen laid a nice egg this evening. She's such a trooper.

How do I tell her to take a break???

I looked up on other posts pics of rooster spur/nail injuries and saw some similar to hers. I just can't seem to grasp that this will heal up fine. Will she really heal? Will she ever get feathers there again?

I've set 51 eggs tonight. I've only got the one incu and the turner is missing a row. I've stacked some eggs on top and will candle in a week to ten days.
I know not all of them are good, but will be happy with 1/2 to 1/3.

Mostly Dels, BM's and EE's, but there are a couple of CR's and Lav orps I think. I noticed a lav orp hen in the nest box and took the egg, plus there is a CR hen who lays in the corner of the coop on the floor.

I also might have a frizzle since one egg today is small and Buckwheat and Frenchy may have laid it. Frenchy is my oldest girl. A little frizzle from my first ever order of chicks. I hope to get more frizzles but who can say?
