Breella ~ Is that the silkie chick from Pearl?
Well my eggs are done. I'm pretty sure they're dead. I did the "float" test today before I decide they are done and they just floated once the water was still. No jerky movements from them. And candled again as well, same as this morning. I want to get rid of these before they go bad and begin to smell or explode even. I tried all the "tests" people have posted on here and other site to confirm an egg is dead. The scratching/tapping to see if you hear scratching back from inside the egg, the movement when floating, still nothing coming from them, no movement, no peeping so I'm assuming they're done. That float test is pretty cool. I'm tempted to take one of Stella's eggs but they're still on day 20. I wont try it unless one goes past day 21 so I know they got those 3 days of "lockdown".
I went out to the silkie coop today because the other hen and chicks seem pretty sad in there. I'm wondering if that splash hen who's broody is giving them a hard time. When I opened up the door she's sitting in front of I saw a couple of blotches of blood in the shavings. Have no idea what that could be from. No one seems injured, there was nothing else left behind with it. Weird.
