Best of luck with that. The only crested thing I have is my 1 brabanter. If you want to drive all the way over here I would give her to ya. She does have a funky toe nail though its like split on sides of her toe so she has two partials. That toe pic is hard to tell but the very top is toe nail and the white on toe by shadow is a nail also. I also have ee's if you want tuffs and muffs will give away if you want to do the driving. Not sure where in cny you are. I'm a hour south of buffalo. Its raining here today so her top is alittle together more than normal. It's not a big fluff more like a v mow hawk I think of it.

She is adorable! But I am 4 hrs away. Might be a little further than I wanted to travel. Thank you so much for the offer. I should mention I am east of Syracuse in Kirkville. A little closer would work best

If i ever find out when and where the picnick is i'll try to bring hatching eggs and chicks if i can/aloud. I am waiting to see what colors my re's lay still. But i have a white leg horn and silver amer hens that my amer roo will be over so should have light blue to blue.

Do these look like Racoon? I found another better one, but we stepped on it and lost it

I jinxed myself.
We had a preditor I'm guessing racoon come and got in the duck hut! It got my Sanjay.

(My kids changed thier names to Sanjay (black) and Craig (gray)) What ever it was, it pried open the door and killed him. I'm just so upset! I can't believe that I was so stupid. It is weird that it just ate his neck and head, the bill was gone? no other aparent injuries. Craig was out this morning when I saw the door was open. I knew that I closed it lastnight. It looks like it climbed over the fence. That looks like what the tracks show. I haven't told the kids yet. I can't bring myself to tell them. I'd say I wish that they wouldn't notice, but I know as soon as they go outside the will realize that there is a missing duck. (I'm sorry Lynzi - I promised that I would take care of them). I cried my eyes out when I had to clean up.

I guess the first is always the hardest!

My dh and I have to talk, we have to decide if we are going to get Craig a friend or not. He has the chickens to keep him company, but I'm sure that he misses his little buddy. He has been quacking all morning.

I'm considering ducks next year. Any chance you can post a pic of their coop? I'm not sure what type of coop to build. Should duck coops be the same as chicken coops.

Oh no I'm sooo sorry to hear this! That is awful! I heard raccoons kill to kill, not kill to eat so to speak? So that may be why he left it the way he did. What I find crazy is if a raccoon got in there, how did the other one survive? Thats what weird. Either way, I'm so sorry.

I converted my old chicken coop into a duck house. (Took out the roosts and nestboxes) Nice and open for them.

Took advantage of the warmer weather to get the cochins out of my workshop today and into my old coop that I hope to sell this spring. I didn't have time to get their coop finished before the snow hit so for now they're gonna be in there. I also put down a new layer of bedding in my hoop coop because the birds are spending all their time in there and are pooping it up way too fast for my liking. At least I know they like it since the spend all their time in it.

And if we're listing what we have for hatching eggs, this year I should have mille fleur cochins and frizzle cochins, salmon faverolles, BBS marans, and OE's.

Mine live right in the hoop coop with the chickens. They like it, and I didn't even have to train them to go in at night, they decided to do it themselves.

Lol sorry but the ******* in me had to laugh. Mainly because i was just in my works office talking about how they just like to say no to people.

As for breds i have ee's and oe's i know not really a breed but you know what i mean.
