NY chicken lover!!!!

Afternoon All,
We found and have been accepted to to rent a new home! It's in Woodstock, CT so we're closer to family but it'll be about an hour commute to DH's job. Which is fine because he said an hour was the max he'd be willing to drive. This was his favorite house because it's on a lake that we would have rights to so he's happy. As far as the chicken keeping goes, we haven't brought that up yet to any of the houses we looked at (well besides the one that was raising them when they were living there) I plan to bring it up this weekend when we go to visit and meet the owner. We would move in in Aug 1st, well get the keys at least. I won't be out of this house until Aug 8th. I have a far ways to go.

Just posting pictures of my babies. Because they're so cute.

Buff Orpington #1: "Buffy"

Buff Orpington #2: This may be Sherlock - my older son likes the name but isn't sure if he wants a BO or one of the barred rocks.

Barred Rock #1: Unnamed so far. She will probably be Letty.

Our "mystery chick" - the Meyer meal maker. Everyone thinks she's a black Australorp. We are thinking of naming her Sheila.

Barred Rock #2. Daphne

They are so gorgeous! Thanks for making me want to go and order more chicks.........

All the chicks that I hatched from them ended up getting copper so I quit. I still have them. Roo is in the stag pen and hen is in with black coppers since she throws copper anyhow.
I think I saw the ad for eggs on BYC and she said she didn't have copper in hers. How is your roo? Bad with copper? I like the eggs so I'll just keep working with these. I'll just have to hatch out and grow lots and lots.

Well congrats and here's hoping chickens won't be an issue.

Of course you realize Silkies don't count as chickens/poultry?

I wish you well ,

Did I mention we switched to Time Warner? The $79.99 package? The internet is slower than dial up. Don't be scammed.

I'm upset because I can no longer watch CBS this morning on line. The commercials alone take more than ten minutes to download. Ugh!

10 days and I already hate it. Should have stayed with Verizon and got some other cable service. Now I expect we'll have to pay to switch back! What a rip off.

We never liked Time Warner, they're internet is awful here, constantly going in and out like a cell phone. We just expected it was because of where we were living out in the sticks. We have Direct TV, it costs a fortune but to him it's worth it. I don't watch much TV to care.

I knew the internet was slower than Verizon but didn't think it would be this bad. You'd expect the slowest speed to be faster than when computers first got started.

Since DW is home all day we needed internet or she'd go crazy. She doesn't go out much due to the treatments and risk of infections.

Hello everyone! It's been awhile since I posted. Lots going on over here. Sadly my cat unplugged my incubator a week ago and the goose eggs that were in there and my quail eggs all died :( Luckily the chicken eggs kept right on going - probably because they were so newly in there - and I will have a new breed soon! Mottled houdans. I also have blue slate turkey eggs and guinea eggs in there. The ducks are molting and not laying, so I'm hoping they'll finish fast and pick back up by fall.
