I've had a heron walking through the horse pasture last and this year. The diversion ditch needs cleaning so right now it is pretty wet out there. Of course haven't seen him back since I brush hogged it down.
Worked the fair yesterday, walked around a bit before and after. Poultry was disappointing as always. Didn't see any that looked horribly sick, but the quality was poor. I was checking out the Wyandottes specifically. Several for sale that were terribly cross-beaked. In the show cages I seen a straight comb, poor lacing, wrong color, most wrong body shape and one with white ear lobes. The best looking silver laced hen was in the group pen adjoining the pond pen. Think Wyandottes may be my breed of choice to focus on, some day.
