blue herons have nests in trees used in the spring, to raise their young. usually lots of herons all breed in the same place. i believe this is called a Rookery. i have one behind my house and there is a huge one west of montezuma off the thruway, when the leaves are off, i'll bet you can see over 100 nests, pretty coolAll you birders out there:
Have you ever seen a Blue Heron sitting in a tree? I have a Great Blue Heron sitting in a bent over tree out back looking at the pond; probably looking for frogs for breakfast. Silliest thing I have seen a long while.
