Hi folks, sorry to hear about the blight problems! That's aweful. The veggies are outrageous prices at the grocery store these days too, even tomatoes. Sorry I haven't been able to catch up on all the posts.
We just got back from Las Vegas, spent a week, got married, and had a blast. We stayed at the Monte Carlo, flew United Airlines, got free plays from Cosmopolitan, won a tiny bit and had fun. There was free entertainment, bands, everywhere. We went in the wave pool and lazy river at both Monte Carlo and Mandalay Bay. Mandalay Bay/Four Seasons (same resorts) was really nice, simulated beach but much more $$. Learned that if you take the SDX bus you can essentially ride for free because they don't usually check for tickets, only water bottles. I hid my water bottle in my pocket book and we didn't know about the tickets so we actually bought ours. There are trams all over too. We ate at Jean Phillippe's in the Bellagio and Grimaldi's too and both had really outstanding food.
Relatives took care of our chickens while we were away, all 3 are doing great and we're getting 2 eggs a day, every day for the past month. The coop is cleaned once a week and someone talks to them several times a day. They all seem very happy together and when we take one out, like during cleaning time, they talk to each other.
Speaking of bats, the night before we left for LV, my little boy and I were watching TV and this "thing" starts flying around the living room. I didn't notice at first but then realized that it's pretty big and thought it was a bird. When we realized it was a bat we opened the front door and it eventually flew out. Strange that you mentioned bats and we had one here.
Lynzii happy to hear that you have an area for your birds! That's so good. Well, got to try to get back in the NY time zone!
