NY chicken lover!!!!

Hi Ginny! Good to see you on, hope all is going well for you. Someone in the last month mentioned that they wanted to find some Buckeyes, so they should contact you.

Hello! All is well. I hope your new year is off for a great start! Sure, they can pm me. I should have some nice buckeye youngsters in a few months!

Are you going to chickenstock?

I am ready for my buckeyes this year - think 2 or 3 pullets or more if it is straight run.

I bought organic feed for my birds last year. They can't say it's 'non- GMO' because Monsanto would probably sue!! There are companies out there that are part of the 'non-GMO project, but I haven't seen any animal feed firms so labelled.
Having said that, my ungrateful bunch would not touch the good stuff! They prefer the 'McDonalds' of the feed world.......

They get it now as warm mash on very cold days - and they're still 'iffy' about it!

Thanks! I do feed organic....green mountain feeds. It is excellent feed. I even suck up the price difference. The problem is half the time they don't have enough, so I have to keep going back too often for more. I makes me crazy!! I even offered to pay in advance. AAUUGGHH!! The might be a place in Schaghticoke. I will hopefully get to call tomorrow. I agree with your statement about the non gmo project...no animal feeds yet or maybe none that I have found. I keep trying though.

Beyond ecstatic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hubby and I have been talking about a few things and it looks like Momma is getting an Incubator next month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to let him get a truck, but I get my incubator and a coop for turkeys and possibly one more coop for more chickens!! I think that I got the better end of the deal! Looks like I'll wait a few more weeks to set some eggs. I think that I can handle that. My ducks aren't laying right now anyway...may have to set some chicken eggs first...oh I can't wait...Now the questions is which one to get!!!

Congrats! Be careful, hatching is addictive! It's why I now have four coops and need a fifth

Here are the babies!!! I guess the hatch rate was actually 31/32 since the original four were "clears" and one in lockdown was "clear."
One was fully formed and unzipped but didn't make it out for some reason :(
