NY chicken lover!!!!

I wouldn't worry about it. Unless you had them shipped priority express, they won't be in until tomorrow or maybe the next day. The weather is mild currently so they have a good chance especially if you ordered at least 15.

They were shipped priority express, so the seller will get a refund on that. And there were only 8, because they were from a private breeder and that was all she had.

Sorry, that sucks! They'll still probably be okay though. If you paid the shipping (you probably did) you can get the refund. I've had this happen to me before and the post office paid me.

If you paid the shipping they should refund you also .
As it is only the 2nd day they should be okay ..It is when they get lost for 5 or so days ..They die .
Even if they come tomorrow they should be okay..

Go down to your PO tomorrow as early as you can and get on their case as to where they are

We ordered some baby chicks in the mail. They shipped yesterday and were supposed to arrive by 3:00 pm today. The local post office has no idea where they are. The tracking has them leaving a shipping facility last night at 7:00 pm. They are a birthday present for my daughter, and I just had to tell her that they may be sick or dead when they arrive. Praying they arrive tomorrow in good shape! But being realistic about the odds....

Fingers & toes crossed for safe arrival!

Anyone "need" any blue chickens? I had a successful test hatch & most of what hatched are blue spitzhaubens

Also some blue Swedish which are pretty fun:

OOH, that's pretty tempting! I love the two blue hens I have, though the gold pullet that hatched last under the broody (June?) still hasn't laid yet.
Her gold brother just got to be with the main flock, so he's loving all the hens & crowing so proudly!

I've hatched a few Spitz crosses, have one blue/blonde 6 wk old that I'm hoping is a pullet that's so cute.

Yesterday, the main flock got a little "supervised" free-range time, and of course, the Spitzhauben was among the ranks to go out!

The postal service has changed some things and "priority express" may not be guaranteed. Please check to be sure. Check that "Most Locations" and "money back"

"Delivering 7 days a week, this is our fastest domestic service for time-sensitive letters, documents, or merchandise. Guaranteed overnight scheduled delivery to most locations2, including PO Boxes, or your money back1. From $23.75 at Post Office locations and online."

Hope things worked out. Don't know why the PO. doesn't just open up the box and take the chicks to save them. Better that than leaving them to die. I'd rather someone had the chicks than have them die.

'minihorse' I think it was, on another thread a couple yrs ago had ducks accidentally sent to the wrong state long ways away. Someone at the PO actually took them out and fed and watered them before sending them back out.
