@Pyxis do you or will you have any other frizzle pullets or hens for sale? In love with my cutie pie and want another.
I've got one right now that I'm not sure if it's a pullet or cockerel, and I always have eggs![]()
Don't wanna take a chance on a cockerel. Got attached to the last one and had a hard time giving him away. Thanks
I don't close my coop. I leave their little door open into their run just incase they need to get out. I think the others are right and they just didn't how. I'm going to the coop after dark now and putting them in.
Supposed to be 27 here tonight. Should i toss them all in the coop again? Or let them stay where they prefer?
Even with a run it's risky to not close them up. Weasels and coons can easily get in.
All sick birds should be quarantined.
Chickens can stay warm, without heat IF they feathered out. I have Big Delores and for some reason she didn't roost all summer but she's roosting now. Don't know what was wrong she always roosted before. Then this year she slept in the straw in the corner. She's about 6 I think. Frenchy who turns 10 in Feb sleeps in the bottom nest box and I let her.
There is a book on Open coops that some might be interested in. You can google and find it I'm sure.
