NY chicken lover!!!!

I went to GVCM last october, but it was late in the day and all the poultry were packing up and leaving. My friends drive horses there. This year we will have to get there early to check out the poultry. Seemed pretty small, but I have only been to the state fair and that was pretty big.

The State Fair does seem huge! The pictures I have seen of the pervious years at Mumford look nice though, I am really going to try to go. Things have pretty much slowed down on the farm by then, so I don't think it will be a problem.

I just noticed you have a lab beagle mix, we do also. She was my foster dog for a local rescue group I volunteer for, but we feel in love with her...She is a complete failure as a lab and a beagle

She hangs out with the chickens all day, I think she thinks she may be one, but it works out perfectly, she is a little protective of them...

love my beaglador, she too, is no good at being a beagle or a lab. She has the laziness of both breeds though.

We will have to have a meet up in mumford. Be sure to enjoy the draft horses owned by my friends family (and they usually bring a beefalo too). Heck, we could even have a picnic at my house afterwards too, I live only a few miles from there.

good to hear from you Amy (taj), glad to know you survived your maine trip!

That would be nice! October can be such a nice time of the year for a picnic!

Does anyone in NY State have a small class A black serama pullet or hen, smooth or silkied? Don't want to ship but will drive anywhere in the state. Thanks

Thanks for the information on Mumford. I am sorry I missed it the first post.! Bad eyes I think! I do have a Blue Rose Comb Rooster. He is from a BYC member from Alb. I can send pictures if interested. Thanks

Anyone else notice that flaggers have ruined Rochester craigslist??? Everytime I post something chicken related I get flagged, when I was trying to find a new home for my silkies roos I got flagged 4 times, I finally put in my last post "if you are going to flag this post please email me with the reason" but otherwise everything else word for word was the same, it stayed up for 3 days and I was able to find new homes for the silkies.

I post in farm and garden, (I quess silkies are a grey area, and could be considered pets) but I have heard the pet section is terrible, and pretty much every animal gets flagged. Who monitors the flaggers?

Sorry just a rant, but I feel better now

Thats why I'm not sure if I want to even use craigslist. I've heard a lot of not so great things about it and I was looking on there recently and saw someone had posted about wanting a male pekin duck. Well I have 2 that need a new home, so I replied , we exchanged emails etc, and I never heard from her agian. She wanted them too and I called and left a couple of messages and emails, but nothing. So it was wierd to say the least. So I dont know lol. But I still have the 2 pekins if anyone wants them! Also 2 silkies and an EE roo. Just come and get them!!!

They have changed the rochester CL, I noticed I now have to log in to post. Maybe that will help. I have not had any problems there (I hope I didn't jinx myself). I just answered an add for some buff Orp hens a minute ago...hope I was the 1st to respond! I may finally get some buff orps!!
