I should have brought a copy of "Meanwhile Back at the Ranch" for the auction and you would have seen Rancher's wife is named Elna and that's what I call DW sometimes. I also call her Stella because in the movie Street Car Named Desire , Marlon Brando calls his girl friend Stella , screaming it from the street below.

Course it does confuse friends.

Has anyone been to the NY State Fair yet? I think we're going this Friday during the day. Can you actually buy chickens from people there or do you just basically grab their info because the ones they've brought are for show only? I've never been to this fair.

no, and I really want to go too but its too far for me unless I can finish the quilt for Sachasmom, but I have no clue when the NY state fair ends!!

I am trying to find full size and bantam splash cochins and the fairs are the best place for me to try to find them now as it seem no one really has them but because I have been busy and so sick I have not been to even one!!

the last one I think I can try to go to is the scaticoke fair as thats all of them over and done with.

Wow! What gorgeous birds! Absolutely stunning! I'm not too particular on color, although I really like the color of Bruce I just wanted a Standard Cochin Roo they are so beautifu. My favorite rooster Harry died this spring and he was a Cochin/polish mix and he was just the nicest rooster? How long before your new hens start laying?

I only have two frizzles. Frenchy is a bantam and Buckwheat her daughter. a cross with a CM rooster I used to have. I'll see what I can do.
