I live out in the sticks in Tully. It's built, it's finally up on four legs and pretty much done. Just some finishing touches, paint, stain and it should be good to go. Not as sturdy as I'd like it to be but I can always keep working on it and add to support to it. I still have another week before I add two more silkies and take my white hen from the group and move them all to this coop. The only I need to do is either buy something or make a nest box. I wanted one or two of them to hang off the side of the coop but I just didn't want to screw it up, so I think I'm going to make corner box to place inside the coop. What's the smallest a nest box can be? I don't want to make it too small where the hens won't lay in it but don't want to make it so big it takes up so much space inside the coop.Where in Syracuse are you? I can help if you'd like. PM me if you're not to far. Otherwise pics of your project would help. Remember hens say, "Never give up, Never surrender".
Sorry for your loss, thoughts and prayers for you and your family.Wow...busy place. I wont be on for a bit. August has been a horrible month. First the accident my dh had and now my father passed away quite suddenly yesterday afternoon. I hate funerals, planning funerals and this whole business. I miss him terribly. Thanks for letting me share.

I'm with you! I like having all sorts of colors and varieties of chickens roaming the yard! The last time I let a broody hen hatch out her eggs I had 2 roosters and 8 different breeds of hens so when they hatched you never know what your gonna get. The next 3 weeks were like watching an episode of Maury Povich trying to figure out which baby was who's!
