NY chicken lover!!!!

Hey rancher, where in HD do you find the culled lumber?
It varies by location, here by me it is in a rolling cart sprayed on one side with green paint. In another HD they have a rack at the back and signs that say .51 cents ....things sprayed in orange are usually not saleable for even culls...they usually include the rods and trim pieces...not sure why they cant sell them as culls.

Happy Hunting

Oh where to begin.

Pharm - today was the first day of school and I'll be very busy. Not to mention the winter on it's way. I only bought the plywood cuz it was a good deal. I've regretted it somewhat.

Lynzi - ducks don't need a pond or water even. The ALBC newsletter said even a bucket of water for them to play in would be enough. Of course you could just use a kiddie pool. That should be fine for three or four ducks. Not to mention the coop I described earlier would be sufficient for the same amount of ducks. I gave the newsletter to a friend but you might be able to find it online.

I admit is is tempting.

We had Call Ducks for many years. They are lovable...YES. And we have
a pond (my husband dug with his back hoe). Our ducks did not go to the
barn by themselves. THEY NEED TO BE DRIVEN IN.

Ours just wanted to stay on the Pond. It was a lot of work for us. AND
they are much dirtier than chickens. We found they needed MORE CARE.

Our Chickens go in and out by themselves. AND we have automatic door.
WE FOUND CHICKENS ARE MUCH EASIER AND LESS WORK.

YES Very tempting! Although now that I'm thinking about Im wondering how much more of a mess I want from animals in my yard. LOL I already have to clean up after the dog, deal with stepping in the chickens messes, and then I'd bring in some ducks?? I'm thinking no thanks. LOL I have 3 pairs of shoes that have been sitting in the boxes they came in since I moved in, I obviously only wear crummy shoes outside.

Well After Aria's post I think you may be right. I've to much to do and to many projects adding Dirty Ducks to the mix would not be good. Even though I don't work for money I do volunteer and that takes some time. The coops aren't as organized as I'd like but I'm working on it. I have to have things so I can make a circuit of things and snow blow with out much turning around.

Aria thanks for the wake up. (note to self no ducks).
