Well, it may also call into question the entire assumption that men have some huge advantage in every single sport in the whole wide world.
In equestrian and a lot of other sports, the answer is, that they simply don't. This has been proven by years and years of - results. Women ride with men in competitions and they beat them all the time. And not because the horse is doing the work - that's a - well - that's a very old superstition, but it's not true. Both horse and rider have to be very athletic.
There are some sports where men have an advantage, but with equal conditioning and training time, the advantage is less than 10%. The TIMES are less than 10% different.
With equal MUSCLE MASS - the difference in a lot of sports is - zero.
What I actually think will happen, is that some scientific criteria (better than what we have now) will be designated as a 'threshold' and sports where it makes a difference, will have that as a criteria. Hopefully the athletes will be educated about how gender is determined and will agree on a method to use.
AND I think a good many sports will go the way of holding open competitions and gender divided competitions, and the athletes will choose whether they want to go in open or gender competition.
