~Oblivion~ {A Fantasy RP}

Xyla held his gaze then dipped her head at the comment of the thousand men. She was nothing to a thousand men. This was what she told herself every night as she stared up at her straw hut roof, crying her pains out and falling asleep with fatigue, only to face the same fight the day after. She finally spoke up in a very quiet voice that was full of pain, but not simply for herself, it was if it it was...for the both of them. She admitted softly, "I haven't seen what the other girls have seen. If you act like an idiot, then so be it. But I've never seen you like that. I've just seen a courteous, strong, charming, and handsome man...that's broken. Like me." She added, trying to mask her emotions by staring towards the floor "It's probably not a good idea for me to go anyway. You're a prince, you need training. I'm a nobody, so...I don't have to worry about ruling people. Besides, if it wasn't for me you hadn't gotten in trouble today." Xyla didn't understand it, but what she was doing was simply heaping more shame and misery onto herself. And while one might see her as someone who always wanted to be felt bad for, that wasn't the case at all. What she spoke was what she believed. After so many years of holding onto memories, all of which roared at her ruthlessly with the same booing voice that she was worthless, she was beginning to give in. She choked out, metaphorically on her knees before her memories as they continued to hurt her without remorse, "You're a prince. You deserve better than someone that can't forget the past. Who cries about it every night." With that, she looked for the door, expecting a quick motion to leave. The face that normally held his gaze so peacefully hadn't dared to hold it again. He was a prince, she, she was just...what was the right word...oh yes, a no one.
Neo clenched his teeth. He was so bad at this. "No, that's not what I mean at all-" he called after her. At first he didn't follow, if she wanted to leave, that was fine, but the further she got the harder it was. "Wait, please. This isn't about me, okay? If we're going to... if I... you..." he raked his hand down his face and sighed. "I give up." Then he went up to her and took her hand.

Xyla looked at him as he grasped her hand, just as she was about to leave, and held his gaze sorrowfully. She responded quickly "No, it wasn't your fault. You were being sensible, you were being reasonable." She cared about him, and whispered quietly "Neo, you're a prince. Your priorities are set out before you." She was at a loss at to what she should say. No words escaped her mouth even though she yearned to find them. Xyla didn't want to distract him from his priorities, even if that meant not seeing him. She finally added "I'd be a distraction to your training. Are you sure I should go? Maybe we could have visits or something if that works better. Or we can wait till your training is over?"

Harrison stepped into the hole in the wall soup shop where he spent most of his afternoons. He sat down at the corner table where he nomally did, and motioned to the empty seat for Iris. A waiter came over to take their order. Without even looking at the menu, he ordered water and clam chowder. He looked at Iris.
