Thank you! So I keep reading these articles about sexing Silkies and I kept asking myself, when is Peeps going to start looking like a Silkie? So I’m now convinced that Peeps is a Lavender Ameraucana and that Houdini has to be a Cochin? I have no idea. Either way, I hope they’re both pullets because they’re such a big part of the family already.Hi and welcome to BYC! We're so glad you joined us!I couldn't even begin to guess your little chick's gender yet. Silkies are so difficult to sex.
Maybe when it's older someone will be able to tell. Peeps is really adorable, I hope she's a pullet!

So today has been a hard day for me. My curious little Silkie, Houdini, drown in my small duck pond this afternoon. I’m still processing it. I made sure the water wasn’t that deep just in case one of the chickens fell in but I wasn’t careful enough. Now I’m spending some extra time cuddling Mr Peeps and she seems to understand. And yes, Mr Peeps is the female Ameraucana that I mistakenly thought was a male.Do you have any new pictures of them?![]()
Thank you! Definitely did expect that yesterday.Oh no! I'm so sorry about Houdini!![]()
