Thank you! So I keep reading these articles about sexing Silkies and I kept asking myself, when is Peeps going to start looking like a Silkie? So I’m now convinced that Peeps is a Lavender Ameraucana and that Houdini has to be a Cochin? I have no idea. Either way, I hope they’re both pullets because they’re such a big part of the family already.Hi and welcome to BYC! We're so glad you joined us! I couldn't even begin to guess your little chick's gender yet. Silkies are so difficult to sex. Maybe when it's older someone will be able to tell. Peeps is really adorable, I hope she's a pullet!
So today has been a hard day for me. My curious little Silkie, Houdini, drown in my small duck pond this afternoon. I’m still processing it. I made sure the water wasn’t that deep just in case one of the chickens fell in but I wasn’t careful enough. Now I’m spending some extra time cuddling Mr Peeps and she seems to understand. And yes, Mr Peeps is the female Ameraucana that I mistakenly thought was a male.Do you have any new pictures of them?
Thank you! Definitely did expect that yesterday.Oh no! I'm so sorry about Houdini!
Thank youWelcome to BYC ,so sorry you lost your silkie.
