OCTOBER HATCH-A-LONG!!! 2015

As long as it can move and breathe and open its eyes and its wings arent glued to its sides I would say it shouldn't matter if you leave the sticky part there. You can look up sticky chick on BYC search. Its supposed to wear off their down after a few days.

Is it the white or the inner membrane that's gone sticky?

The white. After reading your comment I went ahead and removed it with a q-tip and warm boiled water, then blow-dried it on the lowest setting. Warmed the whole egg in a bowl of hot tap water for about 10 minutes before separating the yolk then scrapped some on it's beak, it ate 2 little bits then curled up and went to sleep, so I put it on an old facecloth and put it back in the incubator.

Every once in a while it does a little twitch or movement. It was just laying there breathing before I cleaned it up and fed it. Clearly an improvement.
Thank you very much for the suggestions.

Hi I candled my eggs they are at day 18 and just put them in lockdown, the one egg has two air sacs it must have detached at some point and split up or something. The little embryo is developed and I'm almost sure I saw movement, will the chick hatch?

@gjamesi
Well again I'm still rooting for the baby keep up the yolk it will probably need much more maybe once in a while for a couple of days even I would suggest.
Thank you,and I agree about the yolk. Gave it some more this morning and after 5 gobs on the tip of it's beak it stopped swallowing it, can tell when it's tongue is moving. Much more energy this morning but still not standing. I'll have to keep checking and feeding it through the day.

Hatch date is the 21st. 27 eggs look good. 8 look iffy and I have 5 that are clear. Day 18 I will candle again, pull the turner and toss the duds.
