They are. I used a tactical flashlight for a while. It could shine a beam 300 yards. But it wasn't very effective because it didn't fit the curvature of the egg. A regular old egg candler works best. I use it in the bathroom, where there are no windows, and peek around at the air sack. I can usually see veins if it's good.No, I ordered the eggs in auction here on the boards from a breeder with gorgeous birds, it will be my first time with them.
Slightly random question, what do you use to candle your eggs? I've heard Marans eggs are really difficult to candle due to the dark shells, so I'm assuming you probably know which candling products and/or methods are the best.![]()
