October Hatch-a-long 2022🎃🐣🍁

Pics
Ah they are so adorable! The last pic is the seeing impaired? She's a cutiepie!
Yes that’s her! 😊
She has a vault and only four toes on each foot. This one seals the deal that Lilikoi, her mom, is not appropriate for breeding, just in case it’s congenital or inherited.
I know this little one sees some things as she will follow your finger if you move them in front of her face, but she also runs into the side of the brooder. I had her separate with a “seeing eye chicken” buddy, then moved her over two days ago with the others. I have seen her eating out of the regular chick feeder with the others, but she also seems to enjoy the mash that I make for her in a higher dish. Seems to be doing fine. I think she’ll do well in a smaller run where everything is kept in the same place with maybe one or two good natured birds as buddies.
Hopefully I can find a pet home for her with those kind of circumstances otherwise I’ll have to set something up for her here.😊

So exciting hearing and seeing everyone's hatches-the good and the bad.

My mama has moved the babies out of the crate and in two different spots in the coop so far today. I did close up the door for a bit so that they can have some quiet time as the 12 week olds are in there a lot, nothing bad just curious, lol. I think she is getting ready to take them outside. I hope they can make it back up, I added some more paver blocks so we will see. I will have to keep a look out over the next day or so. Will she leave them out there or will she settle down outside and wait for me to assist? Or does it depend on the hen?
I personally don’t have a lot of experience with broody hens, I’ve only had one broody raise a chick so far. I do believe though, from what I understand, it does depend on the individual hen’s mothering skills. You’ll have to keep an eye on them and see how she does.😊

Sounds good, thank you. She has been a rockstar so far!

First 8 are in the baby brooder (where they spend the first 3 days usually).😊
2 more not quite ready to come out yet and a last one still hatching. Looks like 2 DIS. Par for the course.

Man I LUV fluffy babies!!!
I'm sorry bout the 2 DIS...those are always so hard. But I don't have the skill nor stomach to egg-topsy like @3KillerBs

I didn't have time to do that with this batch and I'm not always sure what I'm looking at, but I do think I'm learning from it.
