October-hatch-along 2019

@Compost King I always enjoy your projects. How many eggs do you hatch a year?
42 egg capacity incubator, every 3 weeks for 52 weeks (although I took about a total of 3 weeks off in tiny bursts) with a 50% hatch rating (but growing as I get better, last hatch was 80%) I estimate 348

Well, can't say that I can JOIN in yet, I have a hatch going on as we speak actually, but when that is done, i might be getting some blue laced red wyandotte eggs from the best breeding line in the country, and if i do, they will probably hatch in october, and i will set some mutts and easter eggers from my own flock to hatch with them. So I WILL join in soon enough, but not yet, ill just follow along for now!

My Incubator temp is 97 (36.1) a little low. I have found going down a little bit each hatch is improving my hatch rate. Debating with myself if I should bring it back up 98 (36.8) or just leave it.
Just sharing my thoughts since its still the first 24 hours and the start of a hatch is the most boring part of a hatch

As its my own eggs and I can play, I'm following the Poultry Assistant app to a T. The only part that makes me nervous is the 2x a day cooling during lockdown sooo I'm going to skip that. Also had an 8hr "planned" power outage yesterday so that was fun. By "planned" I mean the website had it listed as today, but they only delivered a letter on Tuesday to say they changed it to Wednesday (Its Thursday here now) from what I read the embryos were small enough to no be effected. I guess we'll see in a couple days
