Do you think is been long enough for the eggs or should I wait longer before I put them under her.

I'm so jealous sigh... its getting chilly in the uk and my oh says no more chicks to spring.. one of our silkie is so broody though... oh what to do

Ya I was kinda thinking the same thing getting nervous just leaving them out.

I realized my hen has her own eggs under her I will need to exchange the hatching eggs for her eggs. Any advice on how to incubate eggs in an incubator ?

Oh great! I just went out and I was gonna sneak a few more of the problem incubator's eggs under the broody. The rooster is standing right by her nestbox giving me the Stinkeye...then all of a sudden, I hear "peep peep peep" Crap! her own chicks had hatched! I swear, I thought she had only been sitting for a week. She was at the food dish when I went out there in the mornings just until this past week...lordy she must have just been on "lockdown" Crazy chickens will be the death of me. Now I have to try to get t my other 3 Orp eggs away from her and put them back in the problem incubator. Why does there always have to be drama?

She been sitting since last Friday .I have it all marked down for lock down

Her eggs are in the bator. Set at 100.5 according to my mercury thermometer

Finally got signs of life candling on day 4 or 5... one of the 5 Seramas in the Incubator had some blood vessels showing. Didn't see any from the breeds.

Why so high? Incubator should be set at 99.5.
