And the 8 for-sale birds are gone. Not even in the pen 24 hours.

The gentleman told me that there are waiting lists for chickens.

DH and I are weird.

Camp Cockerel is only about 15 feet from my bedroom window and our reaction to a 4:30am "Cock .. er .. aw" is to laugh and go back to sleep.

Yeah i struggle sleepin anyway...due to health problems.
but the worst part is living with neighbors so close by.

I don't doubt it at all!
I just delivered the all-night crowed to his new family along with his hatchmate girl...I wasn't getting any nibbles on him by himself...but when I put her with him I got over 35 requests in less than 5 hours and they sold!

I am thinking of putting a batch of eggs in the incubator -- execpt that the power cord, which is supposed to be coiled on the shelf right next to it -- is missing.

That stinks!
I packed all my incubators up (for the 3rd time) and praying I hold to nothing until March!!! It felt so good to fix something I knew I shouldn't have done...so I'm praying I stick closer to God than my babies!

Another surprise i’ve faced with my bantam.. he’s bearded, apparently.
His father did have fluffy cheeks as well, but was a hererozygote for them, and they were barely fluffy.
Over the last few days i’ve noticed bantam chick’s face has more feathers than it should for a clean-faced bird, and what do you know fluffy cheeks.

Oliver is now 4.5 months old and is just a sweet boy!

I've got two junior cockerels, Rameses II and Seti, preparing to take over for their father at the end of the spring while their brother, Sethos, is currently penned with all the non-Australorps and will soon be sold with several hens as a starter flock.

Ember and Splash, the two pullets, are rapidly pinking up and approaching POL.
