Odd Large Silkie Egg!

Cracked in shell gland during shelling, then 'repaired' with further shelling.
Has nothing to do with being fertile, but may have to do with being harassed by 5 males.
I'd bet this has to do with stress, get rid of all but one male.

There's 4 brahma pullets, plus the Silkie pullet.
We do have another Brahma pullet, but she's getting dewormed, cuz she has a bad worm overload going on.

We wanna keep those cockerels, but have no place to put them right now.

If I put the Brahma back there'll be 6 females to 5 males.

Why?
I hatch every year and when the cockerels get to be about 3-4 months old it's chaotic and very stressful on the rest of the flock.
They go into the freezer by 15 weeks old and peace reigns once again.
We have 3 silkie cockerels, an EE cockerel, & a Gamefowl cross cockerel.
The silkies are going to be used as breeders for a silkie project later on.
My mom wants me to breed the EE cockerel with our EE pullet to get more EEs.
My Gamefowl cross is a gentleman who has the most manners, & is such a big baby, & loves following me, & my sister around in the yard. (Not The Chicken Yard) The game cross is our buddy.

All my youngest birds are 8 months old now, they all settled, no real issue except maybe a little squabble every once in awhile. Other then the typical rooster behavior, everybody lives peacefully.

I agree you don't need 3 Silkie cockerels for one Silkie pullets. Keep the best and get rid of the rest. If you are planning on breeding you will have to separate them so they don't cross breed unless you want mutts. Probably the stress caused the issue with the egg. I have several males in a pen with females and when one male mounts a female they all want to. Slowly the males are going except the ones I want to use as breeders. I have been taking them to a farm swap to sell so at least I can recoup some of the cost for feeding them. I sold 14 males last Saturday. I have processed some but don't need more in my freezer. Good luck and have fun...

You don't understand what I was saying.
The Silkie Cockerels are for a project in the future, with the Brahmas for the creation of giant Silkies. I'm not slaughtering those cockerels, they're not that bad with the pullets, I watch them all the time to moniter their behavior.

I forgot to add, we do have some meat Turkey's in with them, so the Silkie could've gotten stepped on by one of them.

I have a quick question.
Can Fenbendazole be given to a chicken orally, or is it through water only?
