Hi Lori - yeah, it's snowing a sloppy wet mix. Usually, while the rest of new England gets buried by fluffy white stuff, we get rain. The reason is that the ocean that surrounds Cape Cod is warmer than land, so it warms up the snow into rain. We are lucky that way. Except of course if I were a cross-country ski fanatic, I'd be really peeved.

Go home and light lots of candles. Then at bedtime blow them out, one by one. It helps me keep SAD away. Fire is the difference for me, rather than those blue lights and stuff they say mimic the effects of the sun. I guess fire calms my inner barbarian? The one that remembers sitting around a fire with my buddies back in the dark ages?

I logged onto BYC and got this message at first:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare stripslashes_array() (previously declared in /home/backyard/public_html/forum/include/common.php:65) in /home/backyard/public_html/forum/include/common.php on line 65
Scared the crap out of me for a minute. I thought I'd broken BYC....

Lori, because of bad weather in KY, I don't even want to take a chance of getting off the freeway near LH....so we'll just have to postpone her getting the birds a bit. Maybe my next trip or if all else fails, May meetup.

I am faithfully turning Oscar, and hoping I've got everything right. A stethoscope would be nice, but I don't need it right away (other than to test on other eggs).

Next week, only Mon & Tues have evening things written in. But Friday has Mom possibly coming to visit.... And that will mean DH is busy freaking out and may not let me go out and play until after she's gone.

Have a nice evening everyone. I'm off to brave the mosh pit and crazy-loud music. Pray for me!

Sorry you have to wait.
In all honesty? I'm going to a rock concert tonight with CJ and I'm not sure I'll be fully functional enough to box up the correct chickens....

I got a call from the school to pick up my oldest...she's got a fever and a nasty lookin throat. I sent my youngest to school today too after I heard her doing an ugly cough this morning but by the afternoon it didn't seem so bad...just a sniffle. She came off the bus with a wad of tissue and said her teacher made her put some of her tissues in her backpack. The school nurse told me to keep my kids home tomorrow and see how they feel since strep is going around. I loves my cootie kids...runny noses and all.
