This is "Chicken" a 10 week old, female coturnix quail (color is Blue Italian Tuxedo) but she was a solid yellow chick (hence the name!). Hatched from a batch of eBay eggs and our first experience keeping poultry of any sort (we're addicted!).

Coturnix are so much fun! They come in so many colors. They've become my project birds for genetics because there's so much to play with and generational turn around time is so short.

Enter by posting images of your birds in this thread. Each entry should consist of 1-5 photos of your bird and one of the pictures should show the entire left or right side of the bird (head, beak, feet, toes, and tail).

The Other Poultry Show is a judged photo contest.

If entries warrant, we will split the contest into two categories - landfowl & waterfowl, with prizes for each category.

Prizes

To increase your chances of winning, please read the rules before entering.

Rules:
  1. Four entries per member. One entry per post please.
  2. An entry is 1-5 pictures of your "other domestic poultry".
  3. Include one picture that shows the entire left or right side of the bird (head, beak, feet, toes, and tail).
  4. In your entry, please include the following:
    • Breed
    • Color
    • Sex
    • Age
  5. No chickens allowed. Chickens can enter the Standard-Bred Chicken Show
  6. Please enter Broad Breasted turkeys in the Meat Bird Show instead of this show.
  7. Images that have been resized might be disqualified if they are too small to judge.
  8. No screenshots, watermarks, date stamps, text, etc., on the photo. No collages.
  9. The photo needs to have been taken by you.
  10. You cannot use a photo that won an award in another BYC-sponsored contest.
  11. High-quality images are recommended. Basic editing, such as cropping and other subtle changes, are allowed.
  12. ALL photos MUST be uploaded to BYC and not hosted on other image sites, personal websites, etc.
  13. Prizes are limited to one per person per contest.
  14. All BYC rules apply: Terms of Service (Rules)
  15. Entries will be accepted until August 25th, 2024, at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.
