This is perfect timing, as I have a Lavender Orpington who is going through a really hard molt right now. She still knows she's gorgeous, though Her name is Violet <3

This is my sweet Easter Egger Nutmeg. She just started molting a couple weeks ago. She is 2 and a half yrs old.

None of mine look bad yet. feathers falling everywhere. watched my little California white running across the lawn and dropping feathers as she went but nothing compared to these pictures. I have some 4-5 month olds that seem to be losing some feathers, but have never had any that young go through a bad molt. Has anyone had young chickens go through a bad molt? I am glad they do this while it is still a bit warm. Great pictures Jsto72.

She is! she's not as friendly as my other chickens but.... she is gorgeous with all her feathers! thanks!
